Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, is dead. Killed off in the
Marvel Comics Universe by a sniper's bullet
(well... 2 bullets). I was never one to get into the whole Captain America thing, but I find it somewhat disturbing that he's dead. Maybe it's because he was a fellow New Yorker
(born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, living in Red Hook, Brooklyn) or maybe because of all the symbolism. He appeared during WWII, when the USA was on top of the world. Now he's gone in 2007. Who's next on Marvel's hit list?
